Object Watch
Watching an object gets you automatic notifications when it changes — useful for staying current on tickets or records you care about without checking back manually.
Watching manually
Click the watch icon/button on an object to start; click it again to stop. You can also see the full list of current watchers.

The watch control is an eye icon in the object's top bar: with no watchers yet it's a single click that starts watching directly; once there's at least one watcher, hovering it opens this menu (Stop/Start watching, plus up to 5 watchers with a "View N more" link to the full list). The icon turns blue while you're watching.
Becoming a watcher automatically
- Anyone who is @mentioned on the object, or who comments on it, becomes a watcher.
- External users (customers via Sites or email) automatically watch any object they create.
- Internal users do not automatically watch objects they create, by default — an administrator can enable automatic watching for creators on a per-type basis.
What triggers a notification
A comment added, a workflow state change, a priority change, or a label update.

Email automation actions can target Watchers as recipients, letting you extend the built-in triggers with custom notification rules on top of watcher status. See Workflows & Automation.
